Turkish Delight flavoured gin is here, and it comes courtesy of Zymurgorium, the company behind the Parma Violets flavoured gin.

The Zymurgorium Turkish Delight Gin Liqueur is the latest release from the experimental Manchester distillery.

It’s a gin-based liqueur, which according to the product description, features the ‘aromatic, fragrant flavours of Turkish delight’, and has floral notes of rose petals, light juniper and a touch of mint for a fresh aftertaste.

The gin is pink, inspired by rose Turkish delight, and is a ‘must try’ for gin-lovers looking for something a little different.

This gin should be enjoyed differently, too. 31 Dover, where the gin is currently being sold for £25.85, says to pair the gin with spicier tonics or ginger ale.

The gin is also being sold on Amazon for £26.50 – though the reviews haven’t been all positive.

One person who bought the gin wrote: ‘Sadly it tastes nothing like Turkish Delight. It’s like that fluid you rinse with in the dentist.

‘I will add a different gin to it and melt down some pieces of Turkish delight, and try adding a flavouring if some sort, but anything has got to be better than what’s in the bottle. Brilliantly presented though but some improvements on the taste is needed.’

However, there were more positive reviews. Another person wrote: ‘Beautiful gin, added rose lemonade to it and the Turkish delight flavour was complete, will buy again……many times.’

While someone else said: ‘If you like Turkish Delight then you will love this gin liqueur. The Manchester gin which is used as the base has a great individual taste that comes through and the liqueur has the perfect level of rose flavour and is not too syrupy sweet as some gin liqueurs are.’

Obviously, you’re never going to please everyone, so to see what the gin is really like, you’ll have to try some for yourself.
